The MBSAT Path

Eight sessions that take you from noticing what your body is telling you to making decisions that serve your life, the people around you and the planet. Step by step, at a rhythm that fits you.

A path, not a course

MBSAT is not a set of lectures to get through. It is a path to walk: eight sessions in two parts that build on one another, each adding one capacity to the last, until the whole becomes a way of living — what MBSAT 3.0 calls the SUAVE Life. The sessions translate insights from neuroscience, psychology and contemplative practice into things you can do on an ordinary Tuesday.

Every session has the same shape. A short road map tells you its purpose, what it asks of you and what you gain. A brief teaching explains the idea. Then come the practices — guided, with recordings — followed by a journal to capture what you noticed, and an action plan that carries the session into your week and prepares the next one.
Understand the idea. Practise it. Notice what changes. Carry it into your life. Then the next step.

At your rhythm

There is no prescribed number of minutes a day. Some people walk the Path in eight weeks, some in a season; some return to a session several times before moving on. What matters is regularity, not speed — a little practice, often, in the middle of a real life. With the publication of MINDING, MBSATi helps you find and keep your own rhythm.

Part I · Sessions 1–4

Cultivating awareness of BETA

Minding your body sensations, emotions, thoughts and action impulses (BETA): the foundation of self-awareness

BETA is the four doors through which we experience life. Cultivating awareness of your BETA gives you clear insight into your inner world and steadies your inner balance — a robust basis for everything that follows, and the first step towards fewer surprises, less friction and less wear: less harmful free energy.

Minding BETA I: Body Sensations

The body as a source of interoceptive signals and experiences

We tune in to our body sensations and learn to observe and understand the body’s messages. Attending to the body is also the first step towards physical well-being.

Minding BETA II: Emotions

Emotions as a source of interoceptive signals and experiences.

We learn to recognise our emotions without judgement and to develop healthy ways of meeting and balancing them.

Minding BETA III: Thoughts

Thoughts as exteroceptive signals shaped by interoceptive states.

We become aware of our inner dialogue and develop the ability to observe and loosen unhelpful thought patterns.

Minding BETA IV: Action Impulses

Action impulses as a source of proprioceptive signals and experiences.

We explore the urges behind our actions and cultivate the space for conscious choice.

Part II · Sessions 5–8

Cultivating awareness of META

Understanding your belief systems: the compass guiding your choices

META is the mental models through which we interpret the world — our beliefs about adversity, about money, about other people, and about how to live. These sessions help you see your own models, loosen the ones that limit you, and integrate what you have learned into daily life across its five dimensions.

Minding META I

Beliefs About Adversity – IRIMI

Practices, tools and models for meeting the adversities we encounter on our life path constructively. We learn the art of generating real options when we feel stressed, stuck or hopeless.

Minding META II

Economic Beliefs

We learn to recognise our unconscious attitudes towards money and where they come from, and to create an inner environment in which the unhealthy grip money can have on our lives loosens. Fulfilment beyond material possessions becomes an option.

Minding META III

Relationship Beliefs

We examine the beliefs that shape how we meet other people, and develop a respect for difference that goes beyond tolerance. We cultivate connection and friendliness in a multicultural, hectic and often anonymous world.

Minding META IV

Adaptive Integration for Life

The synthesis. We bring BETA and META together into a personal way of deciding and living — adaptive, flexible, and in touch with reality — and carry it into the five dimensions of life that MBSAT calls SOPA: work, family, social life, free time and our relationship with the planet.

The structure at a glance

The Path has two parts and a synthesis. Part I calms and integrates BETA — body sensations, emotions, thoughts and action impulses. Part II cultivates strategic awareness through META, our beliefs, and ends with Session 8, where everything learned is integrated into daily life. The drawing shows the whole at a glance.

You do not walk it alone

From the publication of MINDING onwards, the Path is accompanied by MBSATi, an AI companion built on the method itself. It practises with you, answers your questions, helps you choose the right practice for the time you have, and remembers where you are — always under human oversight and within clear boundaries. The book is the door to both.

How to begin

The Path begins with the book. MINDING – MBSAT 3.0 is the door: with it come access to the eight sessions on this site and to MBSATi, the companion that walks the Path with you.
MINDING opens the eight sessions and brings MBSATi to your side for your learning period — the time it takes to walk the Path at a normal pace, practising a little, often. The MBSAT Foundation, a not-for-profit, carries the companion’s running costs during that period. If you want more of MBSATi’s time afterwards, you can continue by paying the AI provider directly, at their normal rates; the Foundation handles no payments and takes no share. Before your learning period ends, the companion will tell you, gently and in good time.
The book is the ticket. The practice is the price.
